2025 is half-over already! Here is my current plan for the remaining half when it comes to writing, posting, and publishing Circle of Sixths.
January-June 2025: An overview of what I've accomplished thus far
2025 has been a huge year for me. Mellifluous was over 71,000 words when January started, and by the time I finished it at the end of April, I'd written another 95,000 (I know, I'm insane). Over 25,000 words were cut throughout the writing and editing process, and after my last round of edits I'm about to finish, I'll be sitting somewhere around 147,000 for the final draft ready for publication.
If that's not enough writing--I've been posting monthly short stories for my Magnatus tier patrons since February, which will hit over 10,000 words this month as I finish Volume I.
Writing and editing aside, I've planned out and maintained a Patreon account, conducted a reader feedback survey, created this website, researched the publishing world (both traditional and independent/self-publishing), and even started a TikTok account as I look into marketing tactics. This is besides my normal day-job, and visiting another country for 3 weeks, and moving across the United States. I'm a little terrified of myself honestly, but at least that's nothing new!
Now--for the remainder of 2025, here's a general idea of what readers can expect from me.
July 2025
- Continuing my usual posting schedule, chapters 24-27 of Part I ~ Mellifluous will be posted on my Patreon account (a week delayed for free subscribers).
- I will circulate a form for readers interested in beta reading for Part II ~ Euphonious. My hope is to find 2-3 solid reviewers by the end of July.
- Now that my edits are complete, I'll format the final draft for epub and paperback print, then create a pre-order page for people interested in either.
- By the end of the month, the cover art is finished and I can send myself test copies of the physical paperback to ensure good quality and formatting!
- Back to the keyboard: I want to have chapters 1-5 of Euphonious written!
August 2025
- Continuing my usual posting schedule, the final chapter (28) of Part I ~ Mellifluous will be posted on my Patreon account (a week delayed for free subscribers). I will also post a second "Annals of Monmark."
- I will make the official e-book and paperback available for purchase, hopefully mid-August. Anyone who posts a Goodreads review within the first 10 days will receive a free ebook copy!
- Chapters 5-10 of Euphonious will be written, and once they are, I'll start sending chapters to beta readers for review.
- I'll edit and format Volume I of my short story collection.
September 2025
- I'll be pausing my usual posting schedule on Patreon (though Magnatus tier patrons will still get a new short story). Instead I'll share the epub of Circle of Sixths Short Story Collection: Volume I with Magnatus and Acolyte tier patrons, and post writing updates for all subscribers.
- Chapters 11-15 of Euphonious will be written, and I'll continue sending chapters to beta readers for review.
- I will begin edits for Draft 2 of Euphonious prior to posting its first chapter in October.
October-December 2025
These months will be dedicated to finishing the first draft of Euphonious, getting my marketing game figured out (Booktok? Bookstagram? Help??), and continuing my usual Patreon posting cadence starting with chapter 1 of Euphonious posted for patrons on October 5th, if all goes well. Who knows, maybe I'll also look into a physical print edition of my short story collection! I may write a Part 2 of this post in September and detail it out better. If things really turn out well and I gain a larger following by the year's end, I could look into a pretty hardcover special edition for Mellifluous and/or switch out of print-on-demand, who knows!
What I can already tell--the second half of 2025 is only going to get crazier 🩵
